ADDITIONAL MARINE EQUIPMENT
We sell several different marine set-ups but most
are a basic set-up which should be seen as a starting position. It is perfectly
possible to stick to the basic set-up but in most cases there are “add ons” that
make life a lot better for you and the livestock. These are listed here with our
comments. If you want any further information please refer to one of our marine

1. PROTEIN SKIMMER OR PURIGEN
Protein Skimmers remove organics from the water ( as well as many other
products as well ) but not all people want to use them. It’s a big subject but
one drawback is fitting them. In many cases the tank hood has to be cut and
PURIGEN is a great new product which is both cheap to buy and easily

2. WAVE MAKERS These are a method of giving invert tanks the effect of
wave and current action. Basically it is a controller which turns powerheads on
and off at preset times giving the necessary water movement. We are selling the
wavemaker at a 25% discount at present at approx £54.99 . Powerheads of your
choice extra.
3. ULTRA VIOLET STERILIZERS These help to reduce water borne bacteria and can
help in the control of parasites. Available in 8w, 15w, 25w and 30w.
4. EXTERNAL FILTERS Once again an excellent add on or also main filtration, but
can be difficult to accommodate without cutting hoods etc.
5. ECO-AQUALIZER This device has to have running water through it ( via a
powerhead or external ) but is based on magnetism and far infra-red light. We
certainly see the benefit on our tanks. Please ask for details.
We would also recommend the SeaChem range of
additives which are very advanced and designed to complement their salt mixes.
Particularly important are those found in “REEF FUNDAMENTALS” and “ ENHANCER
PACKS” all at 25% discount of course.
